Lead in Grocery Store Toys

Toxic toys sold at California Wal-Mart and Target stores contain lead levels which are noted to be higher than the allowed limits by the federal law on October 2010. According to the Center for Environment Health, they found a chair sold at Target that has lead levels 70 times higher than the allowable amount. Wal-Mart products were also found to have excessive lead levels that include toddler bean bag chairs and children’s boxing gloves. Though the stores were able to pull the products from their shelves, they have not issued a formal recall of the items.
